3. Launch & Engage

You already paid to get these people. Email is how you stop losing them.

Every other channel rents attention. Your list is the one audience nobody can take away or reprice.

Who This Is For

Email is worth building for a Chicago business when:

  • You have past customers who could buy again and don't hear from you
  • Leads inquire, don't buy immediately, and then go quiet forever
  • You collect addresses and do nothing with them
  • Your business has a natural repeat cycle — a service interval, a season, a renewal

If you have no list and no way to build one, this isn't the starting point. Get traffic and capture working first.

What's Included

What we set up

List and data cleanup

Deduplication, segmentation, and removing the addresses that are quietly damaging your deliverability. Most inherited lists need this before anything is sent.

Deliverability foundations

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configured properly. Without these your email increasingly lands in spam regardless of what it says — the major providers tightened this significantly and many small businesses never caught up.

Automations

The sequences that run without you: welcome, post-inquiry follow-up, post-purchase, re-engagement, review request, and win-back. Built once, working continuously.

Campaigns

Regular sends with something worth opening. Written and designed on your brand, not on a stock template.

Segmentation

Different messages to prospects, active customers, and lapsed customers. A single list blasted identically is why people unsubscribe.

Reporting

Opens where they're still meaningful, but mainly clicks, replies, and revenue attributed to email.

How Engagements Work

How email engagements are structured

A setup project to get the foundations right, then a monthly retainer for campaigns and automation — or folded into a broader retainer where email is one channel among several.

Platform costs are yours and paid directly to the provider. We don't resell software or take a margin on your tooling.

Objections

Straight answers

Isn't email dead?

It's the channel people say is dead while checking it. What died is untargeted bulk sending. Segmented, relevant email to a list that opted in remains one of the most cost-effective things a small business can run, precisely because the audience already knows who you are.

I don't want to annoy my customers.

Reasonable, and it's the right instinct. The fix is relevance and restraint, not silence. A monthly email that's genuinely useful annoys nobody. A weekly one that's obviously filler annoys everyone, and we'll tell you which one you're about to send.

Can you email a list I bought?

No. Purchased lists breach the terms of every reputable platform, they violate CAN-SPAM's consent expectations, and they will damage the sending reputation of the domain you rely on for actual business mail. It's not a policy we're willing to bend on.

Faq

Questions we get

How often should I send?

Depends on your cycle. Monthly suits most service businesses; restaurants and retail can support more. We'd rather start conservative and increase than burn the list learning.

Who owns the list?

You do, on your platform account, exportable at any time.

Do you write the emails?

Yes, written and designed, with your approval before each send until you'd rather we just ship them.

What about SMS?

Where it fits, and with proper consent. SMS has far higher open rates and far lower tolerance for irrelevance, so we use it sparingly.

What if my open rates are terrible?

Usually a deliverability problem rather than a subject-line problem. That's the first thing we check, and it's the most common thing we find broken.

Let's look at what you've got.

We'll check your list health, your authentication records, and what's currently automated. Most businesses are surprised by at least one of the three.
