A lot of agency websites are built on platforms the agency controls. It works fine right up until you want to leave, at which point you discover the site isn't portable and the rankings you spent years earning belong to an address you no longer control.
We build on standard, portable technology and hand over every credential. That's not generosity — it's what keeps the relationship honest. We'd rather you stay because the work is good than because leaving is expensive.
Local Note
How much of this is Chicago-specific? Honestly, not much.
Web development is web development. A fast, accessible, well-structured site works the same here as anywhere, and we'd be inventing distinctions to claim otherwise.
What is local: we're here. If you want to sit in a room and go through the site together, we can do that. Photography of your actual space and team — which is usually the single biggest upgrade to a small business site — is easier when the photographer is in the same city. Do you build on WordPress?
Usually, because it's portable, widely supported, and you can hire anyone to work on it. We'll recommend something else when it genuinely fits better.
Who owns the site when it's done?
You do. Domain, hosting, code, content, and every credential.
Can you work with our existing site instead of rebuilding?
Often, yes. Sometimes a rebuild costs less than fixing what's there. We'll tell you which situation you're in before you commit.
Do you do photography too?
Yes — real photos of your space, team and work. It's frequently the highest-impact part of a rebuild.
